These Are Not Your Grandfather's Liberals

"A Wolf in Liberal Clothing"
I know that throughout many of the ethnic communities there lies a loyalty. A loyalty to a political tribe that is seen as a tribute to the memory of their parents and grandparents, and the allegiance that they may have demonstrated in supporting a particular political party here in Canada.
The parents and grandparents may have supported a particular party because they were in power when they immigrated to Canada, and supporting them was seen as a ‘thank you’ for a better life in Canada. Now they have passed on, and the children honour their memory by staying true to the tribe, and any deviance from the previous political devotion may be seen as an insult to their memory.
The hardworking immigrants who came to this country had a real sense of Canadian patriotism and gratitude for government policies that allowed them to bring their families to this great country. Their ideals, ethics, and family-oriented community added to the cultural fabric that is ... or was ... Canada. While they still celebrated the ‘old country’ ... they were Canadian, and proud to be here, adding value to Canada, and contributing to national pride.
Well, the Liberals of yesterday are quite different from the Liberals of today. The Liberal glory days of Jean Chretien, John Turner, and Paul Martin are long gone, and are tarnished by the likes of Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney. The immigrant Canadians from the ‘old country’ would be very disappointed in the Liberal government over the last 10 years ... and yes, their hardworking ethics and community-oriented values have been violated under this Liberal government. I won’t go into the many transgressions of the Liberal government over the last ten years, and if you aren’t aware of the corruption, censorship, loss of freedoms, increase in crime, damaged economy, etc.... then you haven’t been paying attention.
When your immigrant grandparents came to Canada, were they given free medical and dental care? ... were they given handouts and put up in a luxury hotel? ... were they given cash incentives for their whole family? ... would they agree with the current unrestricted immigration of criminals and terrorists, or the erasing of Canada’s heritage under Trudeau’s post national state agenda? I think not.
What is really important for the tribe members is to honour what their elders valued, appreciated, and struggled for to succeed here in Canada. Staying true to their memory and the foundational aspects of their belief system is what matters, not allegiance to a specific political party just because of their label. Times and political platforms have changed significantly over the last 10-20 years, and I venture to guess that many of the Liberal’s globalist actions and policies would not sit well with those who immigrated to this country, worked hard, started businesses, contributed to the labour that built our homes and critical infrastructure, and raised their families to love Canada.
If you are one of the people who when asked about who you intend to vote for say ... “I have always voted Liberal” ... look past the political label, and really think about what your elders held dear, and determine which platform and political policies are true to those values.
If you want to honour your parents and grandparents, do your research and vote to support their hard work and dedication to family. Vote to bring a better life for your children and grandchildren, like they did.
